Richard C. Singer was born in Canton, Ohio, on November 15, 1955, and was raised in North Canton, Ohio, graduating from Hoover High School in 1974. He received a degree in English Literature from George Washington University in May, 1978, and his law degree from the University of Akron School of Law in 1983. After receiving his law degree, Mr. Singer relocated to Florida and began his legal career, earning valuable trial experience while working as an assistant public defender in the 18th Judicial Circuit of Florida for several years. In 1986, Mr. Singer entered private practice, joining a well-known insurance defense firm, Kane, Singer, Planck, Donoghue, Clark and Mixon. Between 1986 and 1999, Mr. Singer's practice focused exclusively upon the defense of personal injury claims and lawsuits on behalf of one of the largest insurer in the state, providing him with valuable insight and perspective. As an insurance defense attorney, Mr. Singer conducted hundreds of jury and bench trial in Brevard, Indian River, and St. Lucie counties. In January 1999, Mr. Singer shifted the focus of his practice from insurance defense to the representation of injury victims. Since that time, Mr. Singer has used his extensive experience as an insurance defense attorney to successfully prepare and prosecute claims on behalf of personal injury victims. In July 2002, Mr. Singer established the firm of Singer & Johnston LLC, with its practice limited to the representation of personal injury victims and their families. AREAS OF PRACTICE
